Earrings: responsibly sourced sterling silver.
These hook earrings are part of the For Maria Primachenko Collection which celebrates Ukrainian folk art practices such as embroidering.
Ukrainian embroidery can be seen in traditional garments such as the vyshyvankas and objects of ceremony such as the rushnyk (a long ritual cloth). Each pattern sewn into the fabric has meaning. This has led to regional differences in patterns and motifs, creating a rich tapestry of unique designs across the country.
Embroidery is represented by various textures imprinted onto the earring’s surface while the unravelling threads at the bottom of each earring are symbolic of the destruction currently taking place in Ukraine.
Dimensions: 4.65cm (including hook) x 1cm x 0.35cm.
